Welbrook at Bloomington opened its doors as a new option for senior living in the Bloomington-Normal area nearly two years ago—and today, the community is thriving! At Welbrook, the happiness and well-being of residents are top priority. The community takes great care to provide the supportive services and lifestyle amenities residents want and need to succeed in their daily life. Its all part of Welbrook’s mission to ensure residents are “Living Life Well.”
The unique design of the community reflects Welbrook’s commit-ment to provide opportunities to its residents. A centrally located, indoor “main street” offers a Wellness Center, Multi-Purpose Room, Movie Theater, Chapel, Beauty/Barbershop, Bistro Café, Billiards Room, and restaurant-style Dining Room. Resident apartments surround the main street area, making it convenient for Welbrook residents to come and go from meals, social engagements, and appointments.
Welbrook offers one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and studio apartments with a variety of sizes, lay-outs, views, and features. Apartment features include spacious kitchenettes, walk-in closets, individually controlled thermostats, walk-in showers, and an emergency call system. A monthly fee includes all basic utilities, cable TV, and internet service. Housekeeping and linen services are provided each week for residents at Welbrook and the housekeeping team takes pride in knowing the individual preferences of each resident.
Welbrook welcomes residents looking for a little extra support without the need for care services, as well as those seeking around-the-clock care and support. The experienced team at Welbrook works with each resident to develop a custom Service Plan which details individual needs and preferences. A team of professional nurses and certified nursing assistants (CNAs) is available within the community 24 hours a day, seven days a week to deliver assistance with activities of daily living and care-related services. Additional services and support may be added as needed to an individual’s Service Plan to ensure developing needs are met.
In addition to senior living and assisted living services, Welbrook offers memory care for those living with the effects of dementia, Alzheimer’s, or another memory loss illness. Memory Care services at Welbrook are offered in a specialized, fully-secured area of the community with 24 private suites. The “Moments” memory care program is specially-designed to help individuals with memory loss continue to experience purpose and joy. Welbrook offers expertise in memory care as the community has six Certified Dementia Practitioners (CDPs) and one Certified Dementia Communication Specialist (CDCS) on its professional team. Memory Care at Welbrook offers around-the-clock support and assistance to residents, as well as a thoughtfully designed layout and surroundings that are both comforting and easy to navigate.
Welbrook also offers a monthly Alzheimer’s support group “Making Moments Count,” to help caregivers and loved ones cope with the changes and challenges associated with memory loss.
The “Living Life Well” approach is applied throughout the many services and amenities available at Welbrook. A full schedule of activities and opportunities is purposefully designed to meet the social, intellectual, spiritual, and physical needs of residents. These opportunities include exercise classes, walking clubs, brain fitness sessions, speakers, crafts, movies, church services, pet therapy, and much more. Again, Welbrook’s team takes special care to get to know the interests of its residents when developing opportunities and programming and residents may choose to participate in opportunities that are of interest to them.
The opportunity to enjoy good food with good friends can also bring moments of joy. The Chef and culinary team at Welbrook work hard every day to deliver a dining experience that is second to none and can be adjusted to fit the individual preference, diet, and schedule of each resident. From special menu additions created with fresh, nutritional food choices, to a service program that focuses on individual satisfaction, residents and guests look forward to dining at Welbrook.
